About Amanda Varnava
Dr Amanda Varnava is a consultant cardiologist at Welbeck, specialising in inherited heart problems and sports cardiology.
She has an international reputation in inherited cardiac conditions, and leads the Inherited Cardiac Disease Centre at Imperial College NHS Trust, where she is also an honorary senior lecturer.
She undertakes an active research programme, regularly lectures at international meetings and is widely published in leading medical journals.
She is also one of the few international experts in sports cardiology and an expert advisor to the Football Association. She provides cardiac services to several professional football and rugby teams, such as Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham, Stoke City, Watford and Fulham.
