About Victoria Swale
Dr Victoria Swale is a Consultant Dermatologist at Welbeck Skin Health & Allergy and has expertise in a wide range of skin, hair and nail conditions, with a specialist interest in skin cancer, moles, lesions and genital skin conditions such as lichen sclerosus.
Dr Swale holds an NHS post at the Royal Free London NHS Trust, where she has been a Consultant Dermatologist since 2004. She is a core member of the skin cancer multidisciplinary team as both a dermatologist and a pathologist, and she runs weekly dermatopathology teaching. She is also a Locum Consultant Dermopathologist at the Royal Hampstead NHS Foundation Trust, a position she has held since 2006.
She is a Council Member for the British Society for the Study of Vulval Disease and has been a member of the Speciality Question Writing Group for the Royal College of Physicians since 2006, in where she was appointed to the Examination Board for Dermatology in 2019.
Dr Swale’s expertise as a Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist has allowed her to be an active post-graduate teacher in both Dermatology and Pathology where she frequently teaches local GPs in London and is invited as a regular speaker on several national courses. Additionally, she acts as a reviewer for Dermatology and Dermatopathology journals along with her work being published in several peer-reviewed journals.
Dr Victoria Swale attended the University of Southampton Medical School 1992, passed the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) exam in 1995, and was elected to Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2008. Dr Swale was a member of The British Association of Dermatologists’ Therapy and Guidelines Committee between 2011 – 2016.
Dr Swale is a council member for the British Society for the Study of Vulval Diseases and organised the highly successful Annual Conference of the British Society for the Study of Vulval Diseases in 2019.
In 2004, she was awarded an MD from the University of London for her research into genetic aspects of skin cancer and has lectured widely in Dermatology and Dermatopathology on several annual courses and invited lectures.
