About Christopher Jones
Dr Christopher Jones is a Consultant in sport and exercise medicine and is the current Head of Performance Medicine at Chelsea Football Club Academy. Prior to this he worked at a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence in central London, and worked alongside a specialised team in sports medicine, orthopaedic and rehabilitation of injuries.
Dr Christopher Jones has a wealth of experience in managing sports injuries, in both elite and non-elite athletes. He specialises in the non-surgical management of musculoskeletal conditions. He is passionate about using exercise as a treatment to recover from musculoskeletal injury and medical conditions. Supporting patients through being active is a method that Dr Jones promotes in the recovery process of his patients. He has contributed to Sport England, Moving Medicine resources to raise awareness of the benefits of being active, in ‘paediatric obesity and physical activity’.
Other roles have included; Club doctor for Charlton Athletic Football Club and Leyton Orient Football Club, as well as supported medical teams for the London Marathon, triathlon, NFL and MLB.
Dr Christopher Jones is qualified in the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound which is a tool he uses alongside clinical assessment. He has also undergone further training in biomechanics and kinetic assessment.
Dr Christopher Jones has an interest in medical education and is an educational supervisor for London Sport & exercise medicine trainee’s. He also serves on the Sport and Exercise Medicine committee for the Royal Society of Medicine.
Dr Christopher Jones graduated in Medicine in 2007 from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne and underwent training in General Practice. He moved to London in 2013 and completed a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health from University College London in 2015. He has subsequently, been awarded a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) in Sport and Exercise Medicine and is a fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine.

It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
