About Bryan McDonald

Dr Bryan McDonald is a consultant dermatologist at Welbeck who consults on dermatology, with special interest in Penile (male genital) dermatology, Skin cancer and mole checks, Benign skin lesions, Skin surgery (e.g. excision of moles, skin tags, cysts, lipomas, lumps and bumps), Cryotherapy (e.g. warts, AK and seborrhoeic keratosis), steroid injections (e.g. scars and alopecia/hair loss), Acne, Eczema, Psoriasis, Rosacea, Lichen planus, Lichen sclerosus, Hidradenitis suppurativa, Hair and scalp disorders, Hyperhidrosis (including botox injections), Paediatric (child) dermatology.

Dr McDonald initially trained in General Practice, during which time he completed a postgraduate diploma in Dermatology. He then returned to hospital medicine, re-training in dermatology on the Royal Free London hospitals rotation.

He has had NHS posts at Bartshealth NHS Trust and West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. He has been the paediatric dermatology lead and clinical lead at the Royal London Hospital. He also started a new complex acne/hidradenitis suppurativa tertiary clinic and has lead male genital dermatology services at both Trusts. He has been a member of the BAD (British Association of Dermatologists) Therapeutics and Guidelines Committee, Chair of the Access to Medicines subcommittee and President of the British Society for the study of Penoscrotal Dermatology.
