Professor George continues to be highly active in basic science and clinical research recruiting patients to trials of new therapies, supervising PhD students and publishing his research in the most prestigious medical journals.

Dr Vasileios Kouranos is a consultant respiratory physician at Welbeck as well as Royal Brompton Hospital. He has expertise in interstitial lung disease and sarcoidosis, and has a strong interest in the risk stratification of these diseases.

She took up her consultant post in 2007 and has set up a lung fibrosis and sarcoidosis service at St Mary’s hospital imperial college NHS healthcare trust which is now recognised and designated as one of only a few specialist centres in the UK.

Dr Richard Hewitt is a consultant respiratory physician here at Welbeck and at the Royal Brompton Hospital. He is a specialist in interstitial lung disease, and is also experienced in managing a wide range of general respiratory conditions.

Professor Nicholson has co-authored over 200 publications, predominantly on interstitial lung disease and cancer He also wrote sections for the most recent WHO classification of lung tumours.

Dr Alçada da Costa is a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine, with particular expertise in acute and chronic respiratory failure as well as sleep medicine.

Prof Desai is a consultant radiologist specialising in lung imaging, including interstitial lung disease, lung cancer and screening, and airway disease. He is Professor of Practice in Thoracic Imaging at Imperial College London.

Dr Shalin Diwanji is Consultant in Respiratory working at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. He sees private patients at Harley Street Clinic, Cromwell Hospital, Clemetine Churchill Hospital and Welbeck Health.
