About Malcolm Finlay

Professor Malcolm Finlay is an experienced Consultant Cardiologist with over 15 years of expertise in treating heart rhythm problems (cardiac electrophysiology). After completing his medical degree at the University of Oxford, he trained at some of the UK’s top hospitals, including St Bartholomew’s and University College London Hospital, where he developed specialist skills in managing complex heart conditions.

Professor Finlay’s focus is on diagnosing and treating heart rhythm issues, particularly atrial fibrillation (AF). He is a leading expert in AF ablation, a highly effective procedure that restores normal heart rhythm and significantly improves quality of life for patients living with this condition. In addition to AF ablation, he offers a full range of treatments for other heart rhythm disorders, with the aim of delivering the best possible outcomes for his patients.

Professor Finlay is also the Chief Scientific Officer of Rhythm AI, a pioneering company developing innovative mapping techniques for AF. In this role, he travels extensively to the USA, mentoring and supporting clinical teams in the use of these advanced technologies.Beyond his clinical practice, Professor Finlay is the founder and Chief Medical Officer of Echopoint Medical, a pioneering company developing advanced optical technology to improve the precision and safety of heart procedures. Your first consultation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle factors, followed by a thorough examination. It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
