About Jonathan Wilson

Mr Wilson is the Chairman of the London Clinic colorectal cancer multidisciplinary team meeting, where he performs his major colorectal surgery.
Mr Wilson is a skilled and experienced laparoscopic surgeon, having completed two surgical fellowships at leading laparoscopic surgery training centres, in the UK. He now performs over 200 laparoscopic surgical procedures each year.
Mr Wilson (MBChB PhD FRCS) first qualified in medicine from Leeds University School of Medicine, in 1996. He went on to gain experience of general medicine and different branches of surgery in hospitals in Leeds, where he was senior house officer in general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery and intensive care.
In 2001, he was awarded a highly regarded Medical Research Council (MRC)/ Royal College of Surgeons clinical research fellowship to study molecular aspects of colorectal cancer. He was then awarded a PhD for this body of work by the University of Leeds in 2005.
Following this period of research into colorectal cancer, under the direction of Professor Mark Hull at the University of Leeds Molecular Medicine Unit, Mr Wilson moved to London, spending the next six years gaining further surgical experience at hospitals in and around the capital.
In 2009, he was fortunate enough to work as a colorectal fellow at University College London Hospital – a busy tertiary referral colorectal unit with an international reputation. The following year, Mr Wilson won a prestigious appointment as Resident Surgical Officer at St Mark’s Hospital, Harrow, a world-famous tertiary referral centre specialising in colorectal disease. Here, he acquired further expertise in complex colorectal surgery and laparoscopic colorectal techniques.

We aim to offer appointments as quickly as possible, and many services have same-day or next-day availability. Waiting times vary depending on the appointment type, specialty, and consultant availability, but our team will always offer the earliest suitable appointment.
Yes. You can arrange an appointment for a family member, or someone you care for, just let us know when you get in touch. We’ll need their details and consent to complete the booking, unless you're their legal guardian or have power of attorney.
Your first consultation includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle factors, followed by a thorough examination. It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
