About Rudy Sinharay

Dr. Rudy Sinharay is a Consultant Respiratory and General Medical Physician at St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

At St Mary’s Hospital, Dr. Sinharay is the lead clinician for the lung cancer service and lung cancer multidisciplinary team. He also runs a pleural and general respiratory clinic. His clinical expertise includes respiratory medicine, lung cancer, airway diseases (asthma and COPD), pleural diseases, interventional bronchoscopy, as well as general and acute medicine. He is highly experienced in performing advanced diagnostic procedures such as bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), and various pleural interventional procedures.

He completed his specialist training in respiratory and general internal medicine in London, gaining extensive experience at renowned institutions such as St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, and University College London Hospital. Before taking on a substantive consultant role at Imperial College Healthcare in 2019, Dr. Sinharay worked as a locum consultant at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr. Sinharay holds an MD(res) from Imperial College London for his research conducted at the Royal Brompton Hospital, which explored the impact of air pollution on patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and ischaemic heart disease, and has published extensively in this area. He continues to contribute to academia as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. Dr Sinharay is closely involved in the medical undergraduate teaching program at Imperial College, London, and has authored and edited medical textbooks for Oxford University Press.
