About Katie Lacy

Dr. Katie Lacy is a Consultant Dermatologist at the St. John’s Institute of Dermatology, Guys and St. Thomas’ Hospital, London, an internationally recognised centre for the treatment of patients with skin conditions. She is experienced in treating patients with general dermatological conditions including eczema, psoriasis, acne, skin rashes and cancerous and benign skin lesion. Dr Lacy also has extensive experience of the use of mole mappingand dermoscopy in order to identify suspect skin lesions that require removal.

Dr Lacy runs a specialist clinic for patients with dysplastic naevus syndrome who are at high risk of the development of melanoma in addition to a joint skin cancer genetics clinic for patients and their families who have had multiple melanomas and numerous other hereditary conditions affecting the skin.

She has published her work in prestigious peer-reviewed journals and staged presentations at national and international meetings.

Dr Katie Lacy graduated from Pembroke College, Oxford University with a 1st class Honours degree in 1994. Having completed a PhD in skin immunology the the University College London, she is currently an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Kings College London.

Alongside this, Dr Lacy runs a research group investigating immune responses in melanoma and also has an interest in new techniques for skin cancer diagnosis including confocal microscopy and the imaging technique of optical coherence tomography.
