About Salman Siddiqui
Professor Salman Siddiqui is a Consultant Respiratory Physician here at Welbeck Lung Health. He is also an Honorary Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at the Hammersmith and Royal Brompton Hospitals. He specialises in severe asthma, eosinophilic airways disease and also in general airway diseases. He previously setup (secured funding, commissioning arrangements & established a clinical service) a severe asthma clinical service at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust- where he previously worked as a severe asthma consultant for 10 years. He also specialises in airway disease diagnostics.
He has an active research programme, which has produced > 150 publications, media interest and grant awards (>£20 million) and he is a Professor of Respiratory and Experimental Medicine at the National Heart and Lung Institute (since 2022) and was previously Professor of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Leicester (since 2017). He is the co-lead of the NIHR-Imperial Biomedical Research Centre theme for respiratory disease. He leads several clinical trial programs in severe asthma and eosinophilic lung disease.
