About Yemi Pearse

Mr Yemi Pearse is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Welbeck Health, with a specialist interest in elbow and shoulder surgery and upper limb fractures.

Mr Pearse lectures on national and international courses for medical students, is an educational supervisor for the orthopaedic specialist registrars and runs a highly successful shoulder and elbow fellowship for aspiring shoulder and elbow consultants.

Mr Eyiyemi (Yemi) Pearse, MA(Oxon) FRCS(Orth), graduated from Oriel College Oxford, in 1995, with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree and an honours degree in Physiological Sciences.

Mr Pearse completed his orthopaedic training on the South West Thames rotation.

and undertook fellowships in arthroscopic knee surgery at the North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre in Australia, and also in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Reading Shoulder Unit in the United Kingdom, training under two of the most highly regarded shoulder surgeons in the UK.

He was appointed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at St George’s Hospital in 2007.

St George’s is a Level 1 Trauma Centre receiving a high volume of complex injuries.

This experience in trauma has led Mr Pearse to develop an interest and expertise in treating complex fractures and dislocations of the shoulder and elbow, as well as the long and short term consequences of these injuries such as stiffness, instability and arthritis.

Getting to know Mr Pearse:

Mr Pearse played hockey and rowed for Oxford University, and continues to scull on the Tideway. Cycles in the Pyrenees, Dolomites, Mallorca and Surrey, and also enjoys skiing, golf and book club.
