About Rachel Clough
Miss Rachel Clough is a consultant vascular surgeon at Welbeck, specialising in the management of venous disease. Her NHS practice is at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.
Rachel led the creation of the Vascular Surgery Unit at Welbeck, where she provides a high-quality vascular surgical service including comprehensive treatment for varicose veins and thread veins using the latest technology.
She has been an NHS doctor for over 20 years, qualifying from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School in 2004. Her postgraduate training took place at leading London hospitals: Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the Royal Brompton hospital, and Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals, and she completed her higher surgical training as a prestigious NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer. She gained advanced specialist training in minimally invasive surgery in France and at Harvard University.
In addition to her clinical work, Rachel has served as a Clinical Advisor to the Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Health and Social Care and she is a Director of the National Centre for the Development of Healthcare Technology for cardiovascular and respiratory disease.
She holds a first-class undergraduate degree and a PhD in biomedical engineering, and she has authored numerous scientific papers and book chapters, details can be found on her ORCID profile.
