About Monika Kaushik
Miss Monika Kaushik is a highly esteemed and experienced consultant oncoplastic and breast surgeon. She specialises in breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, cosmetic breast surgery, breast reconstruction and corrective surgery as well as various benign breast-related conditions, but to mention a few.
Miss Kaushik currently practices privately at various hospitals in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, and in London at King Edward VII’s Hospital. She is also working at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust since her appointment as consultant oncoplastic and breast surgeon in 2013.
Miss Kaushik’s main areas of clinical interests are: modern management of breast cancer and having a holistic approach. She has obtained a substantial amount of experience in relation to various breast-related surgical procedures, including skin and nipple sparing mastectomies, therapeutic mammoplasties, breast augmentation, breast reduction, nipple reconstruction, risk-reducing breast surgery, as well as sentinel lymph node biopsy.
Miss Kaushik actively and willingly engages herself in various medical research trials, on both a national and local level, with her main areas of research interest being axillary treatment in breast cancer, breast cancer predictive and prognostic markers, neoadjuvant therapy in breast cancer, as well as seeking to improve surgical outcomes in oncoplastic breast surgery.
She also holds various roles in education and management, and is also a member of the Advisory Committee of Spire Nottingham Hospital. Miss Kaushik is certified and registered by Royal College of Surgeons to practice breast cosmetic surgery.
