About Katherine George

Miss Katherine George is a Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at Welbeck. She has established a reputation for excellence in minimally invasive salivary gland surgery for stones, strictures and benign tumours. She also sub-specialises in orthognathic surgery, facial trauma and facial aesthetic techniques as well as the management of common oral & maxillofacial conditions such as impacted wisdom teeth, TMJD, facial skin lesions and oral medicine conditions such as oral ulcers, white patches and other lumps and bumps.

After completing her undergraduate studies at London University in Dentistry (1998) and Medicine (2004), graduating with distinction in clinical practice, she completed higher surgical training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 2012. During this time she was mentored by leading experts in her field, which helped her refine her skills and gain insight into cutting-edge surgical techniques. In particular she has been highly trained in sialendoscopy and minimally invasive salivary gland surgical techniques both in the UK and Germany and was the first person in the world to use the StonebreakerTM device to fragment salivary gland stones in clinical practice. She is one of a few surgeons in the UK to offer this treatment and regularly shares her knowledge, running training courses for fellow surgeons and presenting her work at national and international conferences. Following higher surgical training, she completed a fellowship in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery with a focus on facial aesthetic surgery and facelifts.

In her career, Miss George has been known not only for her technical skills but also for her compassionate patient centred care. Her research has contributed to the field of knowledge in minimally invasive surgical salivary gland surgery and has published articles in prestigious medical journals. Miss George is also a dedicated educator, training the next generation of surgeons as an educational supervisor for Oral & Maxillofacial residents at Kings College Hospital NHS Trust.

She is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, member of the British Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Royal Society of Medicine.
