About Andrew Ritchie
Dr. Andrew Ritchie has specialist expertise in the clinical assessment of respiratory conditions and specialised diagnostic tests including chest x-rays, chest CT scans, and other specialised breathing tests. Additionally, he also performs bronchoscopy to allow the visual assessment and sampling of the lung.
Dr. Ritchie has a broad range of respiratory expertise, including the assessment of common respiratory symptoms such as cough (including longstanding cough, coughing up excessive sputum, and coughing up blood), wheezing, and breathlessness.
He also provides investigations for possible lung cancers, including patients requiring lung cancer screening and related symptoms or risk factors, such as unintentional weight loss or smoking.
Dr. Ritchie has expertise in managing conditions like asthma, COPD (including chronic bronchitis and emphysema), unexplained breathlessness, chronic cough, patients with suspected lung cancer, snoring and sleep apnoea syndrome, pneumothorax, pulmonary embolism, and sarcoidosis.
Dr. Ritchie studied at the University of Sheffield Medical School, graduating in 2009. He undertook his specialist medical training in London, including at St Mary’s Hospital, Hammersmith, Harefield and the Royal Brompton. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and continues to pursue an active career in medical research at Imperial College London.

It’s helpful if you can bring the results of any previous investigations with you, as well as a list of your current medications. Come with a comfortably full bladder so you can provide a urine sample if requested.
